I know it is a little different, but there have been tons of games the Friday after Thanksgiving between SEC members. The Iron Bowl even did a 2 year thing being played on Friday. Bama moved a non conference game to a Thursday night before it so they wouldn't have a shorter week of practice.

Back in the day there were plenty of good Thursday night matchups, before the ESPN and the NFL ruined that.
But any other night of the week? Sacrilege.
