Well from what I remember, depending on who you believe there was a whole Gruden thing that obviously didn't work out but there WAS actually talk between Gruden and someone related to the University

How much talk? How serious? We will never know but it wasn't as completely ludicrous as most would have you believe

Then we were turned down by Charlie strong and after that it was Butch

I don't remember any other candidates being involved but it was so long ago I can't remember much of the details. I don't remember any big names other than Gruden even being available



As terrifying as it is to say we'd have been so much better off if we could have made it work with Cuttcliffe in 2010 but alas....


ETA: seems like Gundy may have been talked about but didn't happen for whatever reason. Honestly I don't think Gundy would've been much better than Butch
