There's only so much money to go around. Do you think Clemson boosters will waste their funds on basketball, when their investment in football is paying such dividends?

Zion is likely headed to Kentucky. Martin wants him, but Martin doesn't "need" him. This is Calipari's wheelhouse.

I'm sure that's his recruiting angle as well.

"Hey I know you're a one and done, so why not try to win a championship in college and get that experience prior to going to the NBA."

Seems like an easy sale to a teenager.
