They're fine now. They were absolute dog shite for quite a while because of it. UNC? yeah they are a horse of a different color nearing untouchable. a handful of years of football success won't mask this namely because the teams that Clemson would beat to get this kid, UK, UNC, UCLA, Kansas, will cause a stink and they are much bigger fish in this fight.

Yeah I agree: Clemson is an ACC school, but in terms of MBB what does this mean? Clemson's MBB program is shite, and they have little to zero impact on the $$ that the NCAA makes off of MBB. And they being put on NCAA sanctions would have little to zero impact on the MBB success of the ACC, because they never factor into that to begin with.

Meanwhile, UK, UNC, UCLA, Kansas are some of the traditional bluebloods of the sport, and if they choose to raise any ruckus over this, then the NCAA will certainly listen.

But like others I seriously doubt Williamson is going to stay in-state as it is. In any case, USC or CU are rebuilding programs - USC is further along than CU is - and if Williamson is going to be a one-and-done type of player, then his camp wants the best opportunity for him to get ample playing time - if not outright starting time - on a national program that's already a top program, and thus will get LOTS of media attention and win LOTS of games and be in the discussion for a late NCAAT run. And then actually make that late into the NCAAT run, to further push Williamson into the media limelight and highlight his abilities for the next level.

They will look for the best opportunity for him to market himself for a high NBA draft round, and what we need and especially what Clemson needs are players that will stay for a bit, develop as players and help lift the program. Both Coach Martin and Brownell for CU are not the type of coaches who prep players for early entrance into the NBA - they need time to develop players for their systems...

Here's why I wouldn't rule out CLemson or USC for Zion.

Ben Simmons went to LSU
Fultz to Washington.

When you're one star around a lot of mediocre to subpar talent, makes your stock look even better.
