Foley is one of the best, if not the best AD on the planet. Forgive me if I trust his judgment over Alleva or random LSU fans. Foley can't predict the weather anymore than Alleva. Plus, maybe Foley already knew that playing a meaningless football game anywhere could possibly be in poor taste IF thousands of Gator fans were affected by what was at the time a Cat 5 hurricane that ripped up the Caribbean. Imagine if that storm was 50 miles more East. There would have been catastrophe in Florida. How do you tell people to enjoy a game while their families are recovering. I don't think it was a good week for UF to play that game just like UCF didn't play. It is in poor taste IMO.

I would agree with this except that Foley was saying up to Thursday that everything was ok and the game would be played in UF stadium as scheduled and most Gator fans backed up that sentiment, even when it was a Cat 5 hurricane in the Caribbean. Again, you are trying to revise history to make Foley look better but that narrative is just not accurate.

This is an easy decision for me. I don't think it is a good idea to play here in Houston this week. There's too many people hurting here and people are more concerned with getting their lives in order. Why play a meaningless game so soon in a city that is devastated? This game has to be postponed or moved. Houston is not in any shape to be hosting football.

If I had a say, this would be as easy of a decision for me, also. And that is likely the way that the discussions are going right now. But that is wisdom of making decisions early, when alternate arrangements can be made, because although this may be a "meaningless game" for us as fans but the game is still for the kids.

Well if you think about it, Foley was right. A game could have been played on Saturday weather wise. What he may not have anticipated was that police, fire, emergency personnel would not be available which may have led to cancelling. I was not there. I don't know what was said, when it was said BUT the game was not played that day. BIG frickING DEAL. shite happens. Why can't some of you be reasonable? A meaningless game wasn't played that day. Who gives a shite but some of you? Better safe then sorry. Why should we play a game that day ANYWHERE on the planet when a hurricane was barreling down the fan base??? You don't see how callous that looks? You're playing a fricking football game while people's lives and property is being destroyed. UCF cancelled their game against Tulane and you didn't see any of their fans screaming foul. Tulane fans were at least reasonable. Some people here lost their damn minds because a game wasn't played. It was a fricking hurricane.
