My thought on A&M for the day.

The problem with A&M is that they consider themselves as having all the tools save that one, "establishment" coach is is going to push them over the edge.

I think they would do a lot better to swing for the fences with someone who is new and who will basically INVENT an attitude and an approach for the school.

Harbaugh was head coach at an FCS school before he went to Stanford and he's made a difference that has lasted 10 years. A&M needs a young, charismatic guy with ties to the NFL who can get buy in from tight ends and linemen and try to craft a niche for A&M. The "almost but not quite as good as the others" is not a niche.

A&M is a unique place and it needs a unique football mentality and style and it doesn't have that.

If most Aggies look at the loss to Texas as a way for them to move on to a new coach, and start out the SEC right, then in retrospect, that Alabama win and the Heisman may have in the long run held them back.

You may be right. I think a proven guy like Peterson would give us a very fresh take on the program while also creating a ton of momentum since he's a big name. He would probably be my top choice of the super long shot guys, but it won't happen

I am sure some interesting mid major and lower major guys will emerge this year along with Morris that will be the more realistic candidates

In terms of the pure ability to coach and build a program, I would go with Craig Bohl from Wyoming. I don't think he's a big enough "splash" for the decision makers nor do they have the patience for him to get his pieces in place.
