What is interesting are the spots where Bama has the top player (WR, OL, DL) but AU has much more depth.
Don't mistake unproven depth for no depth. Bama has blue-chip players stacked on top of blue-chip players. Ben Davis for example was a 5-star LB and may not make the 3 deep this year. Let that sink in.

WR- Ridley is top dog but I think the next 3 or even 4 would come from AU.
Foolishness. Ridley is clearly tops, but Robert Foster was also a 5-star talent that's been injured. He's every bit as talented as anyone on AU's roster. The SEC will also soon be introduced to 5-star Jerry Jeudy who may already be better than Ridley. And that's not to mention Ruggs, Smith, Cam Sims, etc. Our WR corps is stacked with 4-5 star guys and several future NFL players. The comparison to AU's receiver's is laughable.

DL- Payne is the best guy but the numbers on the DL favor AU
Hand is experienced, and productive. Former 5-star who should have a great season. We also have tons of other guys who have been waiting their turn. Raekwon Davis, Williams, Buggs, 5-star L. Ray, and more. Bama is 3-4 deep on the DL with lots of talent just not lots of experience. Don't confuse the two.

OL- Jonah Williams is top guy IMO but AU has more depth on OK and stacks up pretty well.
Pierschbaker is All-SEC. So is Bozeman. Tons of studs competing for the RT spot including two incoming 5-stars. Again, the talent level isn't even close to the same. AU has a very solid team and matches up well with Bama, but if it beats Bama it will be in spite of a talent gap not because the talent is equal.
