Gus's biggest issue is two-fold to me.
1. He never trusted Sean White. When he doesn't trust a QB he goes super duper vanilla, goes slower, and makes an already small number of plays much easier to predict
2. 2014 ruined him. 2013 we were great. 2014 we were really good on offense, mainly because of Marshall. Gus checked and called everything from the sidelines and Marshall made it work. It made Gus believe he could outsmart the defense. What it got us at times the past two years was Gus slowing the offense down to get us into the perfect play, which actually allowed defenses to adjust based on formation and personnel and predict what we would do.

We were better last year with Lashlee calling plays because he believed in white and we went fast when he called the plays.

If Gus would trust his QBs, go fast and be aggressive then we would love him calling plays. Most auburn fans believe our best shot at that is worth Lindsey calling plays, and hopefully he can add more to the pass game while maintaining the run game we have had.

See Richt, Bielma, Mullen and Jones. The SEC hasn't had many very good QBs the last 10 years, but those coaches had some good ones and the rest of the team was average.
