This isn't football, but its one of the most iconic images in college sports history and really the only big moment MSU has ever been a part of.

For those that don't know the story. The MSU basketball team won the SEC basketball championship in 1959, 1960, and 1962, but was not allowed to play in the NCAA Tournament because the state of Mississippi did not allow its institutions to play against schools that had black players.

In 1963, MSU had its best team in the stretch, went 24-1 and won the SEC Championship again. The head coach and school president devised a plan to sneak the team out of state in the middle of the night. Half the team went to Memphis, the starters and coaches to Nashville. They flew to Michigan and participated against the governor's order. They lost to eventual national champion Loyola, who started five black players.

A couple years later, Texas Western used five black starters to beat Kentucky for the national title. That's the story that was made into a movie.

50 years later, MSU played Loyola to honor the game.

What is it other than the obvious? Mississippi State or Michigan State? Which Loyola? Marymount? Chicago? New Orleans?

I'm assuming Loyola routed them?
