do y'all think its good or bad for the engine?
how in the world would it possibly be bad?
If it's 20 degrees outside and you crank the ignition then instantly start driving, I don't think it's going to "hurt" anything but it's definitely not a bad idea to let it sit for a few minutes and get warm.

But contrary to popular belief, this does not prolong the life of your engine; in fact, it decreases it by stripping oil away from the engine's cylinders and pistons.
Warming up your car before driving is a leftover practice from a time when carbureted engines dominated the roads.

your car should not sit idle for very long. Sleeping tigers post is spot on. I learned this when I lived in Minnesota from a mechanic.
