I agree he should just leave , If he is the best kicker they have and isn't on scholarship .seems crazy that the starting kicker isn't on scholarship. The dad should just shut up and transfer his son into another school a few days before the season starts or during the season.

I'll tell you why he isn't on scholarship. It's because he's a decent walk-on. We're also trying to bring in a recruiting class and are getting tight on scholarships, with at least three or four big recruits still on the hook. He will get one as soon as possible after we bring in the recruiting class. Taking a scholarship and giving it to him right now, means we lose a scholarship for a highly rated recruit.
