In 2018 Eason will be an elite QB.
Hurts makes a LOT of mistakes but has the nations best defense as an eraser and Hurts best attribute is that he can run well.

I watched UGA quite a bit and Eason has look just like a true frosh...which I knew would happen and Smart threw away this year to get him experience. He may be gone after 2018 anyway. But Eason still isnt developed yet and 2017 will still be a learning experience with ups and downs.
The most gifted QB in the SEC next year will be Ole Miss's prodigy Shea Patterson...but it will be wasted since OM has so many gaps and holes....especially on defense.
And NO, Mac does not want to throw the ball 40 times and run 25 times....thats insane. You win by out rushing your opponent and its usually the sign of the dominant team. If you throw 40+ times you are probably losing and trying to catch up.

Mac throwing the ball as much as we seemed to at times this year despite quarterback deficiencies leads me to think that he wants to throw the ball to help open up the run game. I remember people complaining at times about how much we throw. Which makes sense considering the shitshow at quarterback. But when you got guys running open all game, a competent quarterback can complete 26 out of 40 passes for 280+ yards with a couple of TDs and an INT. I truly think that Mac wants to throw the ball effectively, make the defense have to spread out to defend the pass, and hit them with the run game once we've loosened them up. Then when we're successful running the ball, that will open the play action game, and all of a sudden, you got a potent offense.

I'm not sure I can agree with this- look at this season- our biggest “?“ was QB and we had average to above average RBs but we were a pass first team- in terms of ypg this is the worst rushing Florida team in a decade or more.
