I don't think there's any way he drops that far. A torn ACL isn't what it used to be. He likely won't play next year, but with modern sports medicine and access to the top rehab specialists in the world, he'll be fine. It does suck though, and you can certainly see why some players don't risk it and just leave early.

Jaylon Smith tore both his ACL and LCL and was still chosen 34th overall this past year.

He also lost millions in guaranteed money dropping much lower than he would have been drafted otherwise.

Good points. It's a shame for sure. Hopefully it turns out to just be a short-term setback and he goes on to have a solid pro career and make the big money. He has the talent for it. Prayers sent.

Yeah but Jaylon Smith would have been a top 5 pick if he would have never gotten injured. Beckwith would have been a 2nd or 3rd rounder without the injury. I still think he gets drafted no earlier than the 5th round now.
