Why would Auburn automatically drop after that loss? How did losing to the number 1 team prove that Auburn isn't the 13th best team in the nation?

This is just for discussion and has nothing to do with current standings. (I'm not melting)


I completely agree. With all the recent emphasis on rewarding a harder schedule, it defies logic that a team is dropped after a playing a tough game against a higher ranked foe (and usually passed by teams that beat poor teams that week).
