Answer me this: Why does Alabama lose to a less talented team every year?

The REAL fail will be by the LSU oline and by extension Danny Etling. I pity Etling if LSU continually finds itself in obvious passing situations. The mauling he will take will not be for the faint of heart. At least Hurts is mobile enough to avoid being crushed. Etling might well leave in an ambulance.

Sometimes you just get outplayed by good teams. Sometimes matchups are an issue. Sometimes key injuries are an issue. Sometimes lack of experience is an issue. Sometimes the ball bounces funny. Sometimes a group of teenagers/young men don't stay motivated/focused for 4 straight years of games. It's college football. College football still has a lot of parity although I can see why you might think otherwise with Alabama winning 4 out of last 7 NCs.
Alabama hasn't lost to a bad or even mediocre team in 9 years. End of year ranking for Alabama losses from 2008 to present:
2008 - Lost to #1 and #2
*2009 - Didn't lose
2010 - Lost to #1, #8 and #22
*2011 - Lost to #2
*2012 - Lost to #5
2013 - Lost to #2 and #6
2014 - Lost to #1 and #17
*2015 - Lost to #10
2016 - Haven't lost yet
*Won NC
That's it. 12 losses in 8+ years all to ranked teams, mostly in the top 5. That's about as good as it is ever going to get in college football today.
