This thread is so funny to me because Bama fans have been through a similar situation and can easily recognize it. How many coaches between Bear and Stallings, who got ran off by meddling alumns despite averaging 10 wins/year on the field and a NC, and then more meddling until Mal Moore had enough and told everybody we're getting Saban and everybody else will back the f off! Problem solved. LSU fans flat out reject the advice from Brando and Bama fans. Now, we get to watch them go through coach after coach until they learn it for themselves. Les Miles was their Gene Stallings now they will hire guys like Dubose, Franchione, Mike Price, and Shula to bow down to the alumn. So much for learning from history.

so wrong on many levels here. les miles always had an undisciplined team.

yall can't make fun of him, then turn around and say he is the best we can do. that's being a hypocrite. we didn't want him anymore. end of story. he has made lots of mistakes since his first home game in TS

I didn't say he was the best LSU can do. Neither did Brando. He said no top coach would want to go to LSU because of the meddling alumn. We are saying LSU could get a great coach if they could keep their alumn in check. LSU clearly didn't do this. They meddle and Miles had to make coaching changes in order to keep his job. This is not how Championship programs are made. It isn't a democracy. The head coach is in charge of football, meaning his coaching and staff. Until the rich LSU alumn back off and stop interfering with their coach, LSU will be doomed to mediocrity. I for one am stoked about it.
