So our pass coverage once again was horrid. As in, our DBs couldn't cover a twin bed with a California King blanket. I know we threw some young guys out there tonight but Bridges looks bad in off coverage, C. Davis played zone when we were in man, Hampton is wasting a schooly and will our will our LBs ever realize that TEs actually run routes that need to be covered. That said, is it time for CHF to promote Kiffin to the DC and bring in some new blood on the defensive coaching staff? Thoughts?

You may, but damn you can't say it's on the players when you are lining them up in "off" coverage with huge 10 yard cushions. I can sort of understand the TE getting free since our Safeties & LBs were respecting Cook....but those cushions allowed Francios, and about an marginal QB, look like an All-Pro as they dink & dunk right down the field (ref: 2015 Arky game). We usually look better when we play up and force WRs out of their routes or at least delay them enough to to allow the DL to put pressure on the QB.

We legitimately gave Francois the perfect practice game.

Our first move should be to replace Batoon. We should've never hired him in the first place

I really don't think that Freeze has the cajones to force any of his assistants out though.

It was the scheme we decided to use. The scheme actually worked. We just didn't execute on 3rd down. It wasn't always the outside routes. At times it was just complete breakdowns. Wide open guys.

Wommack took the blame. But just thinking objectively what do you want him to do? Press coverage with a true freshman cb?

Press coverage at certain times is a start. At the minimum not set the "off" at 10 yards. I mean 1/2 of that freshmans yardage was underneath stuff that was wide open because our DBs were still in their back peddle. Yes they are freshman but give the DL a chance to force some pressure & maybe a turnover.

Yeah that's my biggest thing. Pressing gives the DL an extra second to get to the QB. We have to play to our strengths. shite we are giving up the points anyway.
