I am very happy with what Mazzone put together. We had some execution problems at times that caused us to stall out. UCLA also made nice adjustments to start overplaying the short routes. We should be able to make teams pay that do that to us if the OL continues to gel and improve.

I really like Keith Ford and hope he is our number 1 back going forward. Our TE whiffed on his block where Ford got stopped on the short yardage play and was injured.

Knight was good enough to win. He has the arm strength to get away with throwing while he is backing up but he is going to throw picks from time to time doing that. I doubt the staff will be able to break that habit since he is already in his 5th year of eligibility.

I was surprised we didn't throw a couple of more short passes to Williams out of the backfield. But we may see some more of him this week. Particularly if Ford is dinged up.

It made sense to have Ford in there on 4th and goal in OT to sell the fake since he probably has more power between the tackles, but I like getting the ball to Williams in space as a change of pace. If he can pass block well enough, I like him better as a 3rd down back for us.
