He is a good guy. That incident between Walker and Cullman was not normal behavior for him. Glad he was given another chance to coach and not have that isolated event ruin his career,

FWIW, we tried to work out my joining his staff many years ago...teaching positions did not fit my certificate etc.

He will do good there. Know I will be pulling for Buckhorn now.

I unfortunately was in ATL, so I didn't get to see all the scores and highlights, but one of my favorite rivalries in the state- Auburn and Opelika HS- played over the weekend and Opelika won 28-0.

Some interesting games this week:

Hoover plays Mt Brook this week. I expect Hoover to bounce back and lay it on the Spartans after losing 25-7 to Allen, TX.

Tuscaloosa County High plays Thompson. I can't remember the streak, but coming into the season, County High hadn't won a game in forever. Now since they hired Bart Sessions, they're averaging 47 PPG.

Hillcrest and Northridge play. Hillcrest has looked impressive in their first two weeks.

And Spain Park plays Vestavia Hills. I generally enjoy the football around the BHam region the most.

Definitely a good coach..and besides that incident haven't heard anything else that's concerning. Did hear he was tough, in a good way, but what good coach isn't?

I do wonder though if he was considered or applied to the position at Athens since they had an opening and his brother is the superintendent.
