thats pretty disingenuous
most states in the confederate in their declaration of secession listed slavery as one of the main points of seceding.
I have no problem with the heritage part, display it, love it, do what you please.
Just dont tell black people in the same breath to get over slavery.
kinda hypocritical.

That is exactly why I said there is a distinction between the Confederate government and poor soldiers swept up, oftentimes against their will, into the war effort. I said from the beginning that the Confederacy deserved to lose, not because of the legality of secession, but because slavery was an absolute atrocity.

My people fled here from oppression and famine that left as many as a million dead and caused a roughly equal number to flee the country. I don't expect the British to scrape off every connection to the government of the time. I would rather people just talked about what happened.
