Beaumont is not huge, it is close to Houston, Lafayette, NOLA, Lamar is there, so there is some sports options other than the Houston colleges, aTm, etc.
Plus if I lived in Beaumont, I would probably be doing more than just staying there, as I would probably go over to the Bay in Mississippi a lot also.
