You're right. But not all of them have a defeatist attitude about it:

quote:

At one point, (Trey) Smith said competition at his position did matter to him. If a school had multiple tackle commitments, it would hurt its chances at landing him. He’s had a complete 180 from that mindset.

“There’s going to be competition at any school, and I’m just starting to realize that,” Smith said. “Before, I had that mindset where it bothered me. Now, I just look at it as more competition and it’s whatever to me. I don’t mind.”

I wouldn't call saying bama is great and he's still considering them having a defeatist attitude, but kudos for not taking the one rivals writer said he didn't look sharp and he's fallen down the board approach.

There's a difference. LSU is going to be thin, very thin, at LB next year. LSU is a school that you can also compete for SEC titles and make it to the NFL. There is being a defeatist and then there's making a business decision. If you're a top 5 recruit, you make the correct business decision. I've said all along if he goes to bama, I understand. It's business. You should understand if he doesn't choose Alabama as well. It's business.
