What does "win the team" even mean? Do the players vote by secret ballot on who starts?

Come on bro. It's leadership. The guys know who they will go to war with. In 2014, Jake had actually performed better in fall camp but Blake won the team. Saban said that Jake won over the team during the Ole Miss game last year. Winning the team is real, ask coach Saban and it carries more weight than anything else. The guys aren't gonna rally behind a guy they know can't get the job done imo.
