SEC does not have Texas
Sorry to damage your ego but A&M cannot carry their own weight let alone the state of Texas

I have no problem adding another Texas school, but would prefer not to. And as a kid pulled for OU vs Neb, Tex, TAM,etc..

But, as of now, they bring programs and lore..and no more. To add them is Indian Nation Welfare.

They mooch a football roster out of Dallas and Houston,etc..as do probably their Softball, Hoops, Bases, Gymnastics,etc..

I know their student base counts on such, read an article recently by their President commenting on it.

SEC doesn't need to add anything, but/if when, it needs Hoops pedigree in either schools or recruiting access, it needs closer proxy to Eastern Seaboard metros, alumni in power corridors of Govt(Va) and Research(NC), states with multiple schools to choose from, many villages to recruit from,etc..

Ask not the SEC what it can do for you(OU), but what you can do for the SEC(Va & NC)!

P.S. What part of my earlier post suggest anything of ATM? Texas is wide open territory for many conferences(as are fellow massive states Cali and Fla)..they were added for tv markets and recruiting access, not ATM athletic lore.

OU & UT aren't needed either, especially with Texas(the state) SEC entry now here. Hell, in 15 to 20 years the SEC could add TCU or Baylor as filler if needed, and not miss a beat. And even if ATM wants and gets with the help of LSU, Ark, Mo,etc..help on cockblocking of future Texas school recommendations..and ATM eventually dominates Texas recruiting..LSU, Bama,etc..will still pull their share of kids that want to play in the SEC..as will UT and OU even in weaker conferences.
