This isn't a light sentence. There is no sentence here at all. That is the travesty in this situation.
I wholeheartedly agree that the "criminal rehabilitation" system is horribly skewed against the poor (I think this is a class issue more than a race one. But that's another conversation). But that doesn't detract from the fact that time and again a certain strata of society have get out of jail free cards when the rest of us don't.

This is precisely the reason I chose my career path. Posters on this board can decry the motives of people crying foul on this issue.

But again that doesn't take away from the fact that this is yet another instance of the rules not applying to the privileged and talented.
