quote:
“Then I said unto them, What is the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bama unto this day.”
The correct transliteration (converting from the original Hebrew letters to English letters) is "Bamah" not "Bama."
The "a" in both instances is long -- like "Bay May."
The word means "high place" -- the foundation upon which idols were built, and refers to the practice of passing their sons through the fire as a human sacrifice (obvious when read in context).
The Bay May fans burned their children to death in worship to a pagan god. You really want to cite this one?
