footwork/balance/stability drill.. relatively nothing to do with throwing motion, but with most all drills u finish with a release.

Tennis balls=cheap, easy & float

Thank you for explaining the tennis ball to the bike helmet crew oldschool. Btw LSU fans, George is highly respected, but no one can work miracles. Maybe it's just that your coaches suck and can't develop talent that George can't fix over a summer. All I know is Simms went from a backup running back to a 5th year senior starter that took us to the playoffs, most passing yards in Bama history, and would have won it all if he had the defense from last year.

A wet tennis ball weighs less than 100g and a dry football weighs more than 400g. It has do to entirely with the process of making a throw and not the actual speed of the motion.

Eta if you want to increase arm strength and therefore increase speed of throw you would throw a heavier ball.
