Is there blue light for it? I read before bed, but I don't like reading from a device because I can't fall asleep after reading from a screen. I know it doesn't have a bright light, but is there blue ligh?

Not sure what you mean by "blue light" -- are you talking about the color temperature?

The light on a Kindle Paperwhite is a frontlight, not a backlight. That means, unlike an iPad/iPhone/computer screen, the light is not coming from behind the screen towards your eyes. The light is reflected from the bezel onto the front of the e-ink display.

I read my Kindle Paperwhite at night before sleep all the time, and it doesn't interfere with my ability to sleep like my iPhone/Mac laptop do. I find it's better than turning a lamp on and reading a paper book by lamplight.

I really like the idea of paper books so I held off from getting a Kindle for a long time, but I couldn't be more happy with my purchase now.

I used to buy a lot of books and by the time they'd come in, I'd already lost interest and just put them on the shelf for another time. Now I can immediately download and read a book while I still am interested in it. Kindle books also often cost less than their paper counterpart, and if you're a less scrupulous individual, there are tons of pirate ebooks out there.

And when you have to run out and want to bring a book, you no longer have to worry about making a decision on what to grab. The Kindle has space for tons of stuff on it.

Not to mention it fits on your hands so much easier and is lighter than a paper book. It's comfortable to use in many settings.

So yeah, I guess you could say I don't miss paper books.

Research them. They are perfectly visible and highly adjustable as far as the brightness does. The readers do not have a backlight like an iPad does. It is very different. You really have to research and see it to understand.

Kindle paper white is the obvious answer. Front lit the same as using a lamp, except it's the perfect amount of light for reading and doesn't bother anyone sleeping next to you.

I have read literally life changing books due to owning a Kindle for the last (however many years they've been around)
