If you like historical military films, Piece of Cake is a beautifully done mini-series about the RAF at the start of WWII. Fantastic flying scenes and good characters as well.

The Lighthorsemen is a good movie that covers both troops (Aussie lighthorse) and an obscure theater of WW1 (Palestine).

The Best Years of Our Lives

Is a classic tale of regret, loss and the damage war does to those that live through it. Harold Russell won an Oscar as a man who lost his arms during the war and delivers a poignant view of the scarred veteran.

Cross of Iron.
