The problem with Texas beaches is the Mississippi river. The reason the water looks bad is because there is a ton of dirt stirred up. As you move further South in Texas, the water looks nicer.
Galveston - Looks terrible
Port Aransas - Looks slightly better, but Port A sucks.
South Padre - As good as it gets, but it's a crazy far drive through the king ranch. Don't run out of gas.
