Rortvedt, a catcher from Verona, Wis., was the 56th overall selection, which has a $1,141,000 signing bonus value, according to MLB.com.
The MLB signing deadline is July 15.
“It’s on my mind every day,” Rortvedt told the Wisconsin State Journal two weeks ago about his decision process. “I want to play professional baseball, but I have a great school lined up to go to. It’s a win-win situation.”
As a senior, Rortvedt hit .393 with 11 RBIs during the regular season, despite being pitched around. During his junior year, he hit .463 with five home runs and 29 RBIs.
Baseball America rated him as the 82nd overall prospect and second-best prep catcher in the country entering the draft.

doubt that too. I don't recall him taking an official here. He EE'd at Texas and Texas gets their commits early. Especially during the time he was a HS Sr.
