I don't have the knowledge base to say if he's the best in the SEC (heck, I don't think I could name all of the SEC OC's off the top of my head).

But one thing for sure - Kiffin/Bama sure has refurbished his image. Not that long ago he was looked on as the "leave Tenn in the middle of the night/end up getting run off from USC" douche. Now he looked on (legitimately I think) as the guy who figured out how to meld Bama's power running game with enough spread concepts to stay up with the current state of the game.

^^ This. I agree 100% with you there. And I have to admit, I was NOT a fan of his hiring originally. In fact, I was kinda pissed, looking back. I thought he was a loser, and didn't know what Saban saw in him. But, in retrospect, I am glad Saban gave him a chance to redeem his image. The guy looked like a total joke beforehand, and now people are looking at him like he's borderline genius. If he's smart, he'll stay under Saban until Saban is gone and then go elsewhere, or stick with Alabama. Part of me feels he'll end up leaving prematurely, but another part of me hopes he sticks around because it's better for him to have Saban as a mentor and to continue to rehabilitate his career that was honestly looking as bad as it could be just a couple years ago.

Nick Saban as a mentor is the best thing that could have happened to the guy.
