I think stopping Watson from running is the biggest and most important gameplan for the defense.

Stopping Watson is only half the key. Watson in the zone-read opens both the inside and the edges of the run game. Go watch the IronBowl and see how Gus attacked the edges of the Bama defense for well over 100 rushing yards. Clemson will most likely do that instead of the LSU/MSU plan of run up the middle.

Clemson also has great speed in the skill positions and Watson can pass the ball well. Alabama is still weak against the pass. You will not see the overthrows you saw with Cook (career 50% passer before that Bama game.) Expect Clemson to take deep shots and connect on a few for long TDs.

On defense Clemson has speed also. They will need to penetrate to stop the run game. They cannot let Henry get 5ypc.

Need to avoid bad matchups in the passing game. Kiffen was able to matchup Old Man Ridley against a S of Michigan State too much. Clemson might let M. Alexander follow Ridley around all

Ridley is a fantastic WR, but by focusing on him, that frees up Ardarius Stewart, OJ Howard, and Richard Mullaney to make more plays. Stewart, in particular, has really been impressive down the stretch.
