At the risk of perpetuating this wonderfully creative analogy you have going of a UT/A&M divorce where you left us with the kids and no child support (anyone familiar with Aggie nation should know this narrative is all too familiar in their world...), I'll play.
Sure we might be down right now, saddled in a conference that is struggling in various ways, but I'd take a couple down years over the decades of being nothing more than a low to mid tier joke school. Look around. No one respects you. You left our conference, albeit not your happy place (sorry if we all beat up on you a little every year), for what? The ability to brag about being in yet another conference you never win?
I'm on this site because I like a lot of the SEC schools and frankly these days Big 12 forums are mostly catered to basketball. It's great to see nothing has changed at A&M. You will always remain an ignorant punching bag for real schools to take out their frustration.
