I got caught up in the post there and forgot the point of it. My point was these coaches try to take the feelings out of it. They are trying to show them facts, results, and not "momentum".

I get your position on your draft this year. But you have to look at the facts and acknowledge that State has been sending a lot of kids since Mullen got things rolling. We signed 14 to NFL contracts last year. We have another 5 this year that will be drafted, in a down year, and 3-6 juniors who could declare and would get picked up if they decided to.

You're looking at 7 years, and 7 DL's who are currently on rosters, playing on Sunday's. Versus 3 years, and 1 guy who will be drafted in the first round this year. That's not even counting the guys who will get picked up this year. Ryan Brown will be on a roster next year. Nick James will be on a roster next year. Chris Jones, if he decides to declare, will be on a roster next year.

It would be one thing if this were an every year thing. It isn't. It's one extremely good DT, who has always been extremely good. If you want to be developed into an NFL DT, do you go with the guys who have produced 1 in 3 years, or the guys who have produced 7-10 in 7 years? It's really that simple, there is no decision.

I get your point but I guess my question is a general one. You have to admit your coaching situation is kind of a mess. Mullen had most likely quit and would leave if he had an opportunity. These kids know this and have no idea who their next coach could be. Miss State has done a good job recently but do they really want to put theirselves in a position of uncertainty. I think Sommons sees this more than AJ. If NFL was the argument why wouldn't Simmons just go to Bama?

You do realize how bad you are skewing thing your team's way. The question is did CHF inherit an SEC ready team....the answer is not no be "Hell No". He made the best with what he had. His recruits are just now getting to draft eligibity. It is only going to get better. Likely Woody will get a look if not land on a team. Then you have Brown, Jones, Speaks etc....following in trace. You can't sit here an say it isn't comparable when you are trying to compare Muffins body to work against Coach O's leftovers to a coach that did jack shite besides collect a paycheck and then CHF....Also I think the product on the field is rather telling, 3-1 and the 1 win was a home field OT fumble to clinch it.
