Saints wasted a timeout

Payton calls a t.o. right after Newton runs a qb draw off tackle for 2 yards with 1:20 or so to go. The defense hasn't stopped Carolina all game, yet he wastes his last time out. Next play they score. My beef is at least give your offense a chance to go to overtime with a FG. That was one of the dumbest moves Payton has ever done and he deserves to be put into question

that is low on the list of "dumb decisions". Carolina had what, 3 timeouts left? They were milking the time 30-40 seconds on the play right before that timeout was called.

they milk it again, and just say carolina needs time, they still have more than enough control with 3 timeouts that deep in saints territory

Disagree that it was a bad timeout. He doesn't call it and the Panthers drain the whole play clock. They aren't getting the ball back so it's all or nothing on that drive and they want to leave us as little time as possible.

What in the hell are you talking about? You know that Carolina was trying to run the clock so that we had no time left to counter a score? Keep up.
