I don't hate Petrino either but I don't yearn for him back or anything (not saying you do just explaining me). We got Texas last year which added to the delight so I just hope we get something to make it intriguing so Tech would work for me as well. 
Would they match us up again since we played? Do they do that (aside from LSU bama years back)?

most of the time, bowls will try not to pair up teams that played in the regular season.
But, there are few exceptions.
and whoever said, "To maximize viewership or ratings" I call crap on this.
TAMU going to the Liberty did not maximize ratings against WV... and the ticket sales were terrible.
Miss State going orange over Cotton was also not maximizing ratings, and the ticket sales were terrible.
Tamu would have been better in a texas bowl and Miss State in Cotton for fans and matchups. JMHO of course..
