Used to live in Hotlanta, worked for a while in downtown Atlanta just a few blocks from Varsity...never saw many Ga Tech students....they were holed up doing math equations way over my head.

At night they had their dorms locked up and were scared to turn lights on. Gunfire was common in the area during late hours. I had some guys pull up to me in their car as I was walking towards Varsity with bad intentions,until I flashed my equalizer.

UF played Bama twice in a row in Tuscaloosa 1963-64. We upset Bama in 1963 when they were ranked 3rd...the next year was Spurriers first year and we almost got them again a hard fought battle 14-17. If we had been in the Swamp that game it might have been different...but we werent and wasnt.

The Saturday Evening Post was a weekly magazine that had good reputation and normally stayed away from controversy in politics etc etc. The story about Bryant and Butts was like a bombshell.

Right now the talk about 16 teams in the SEC is stupid. Why? We dont need it and havent even digested Mizzou and A&M yet. The younger posters have no earthly idea about history, tradition and patience. It should not even be discussed until 2025...and even then it may not be feasible.
