Sorry, if I know I haven't violated a law, I'm not doing whatever the officer tells me to do and taking my chances in court. I'll stand up for myself in a respectful manner, but I'm not just going to comply and hope for the best. There are scores of innocent people in jail right now.

Following this path is absolutely the one thing you can do to ensure that you join those innocent people in jail.

If this guy had simply stepped outside as the one rational person (who was inside the apartment) on both sides of that cluster kept yelling for him to do, he'd have been arrested for a misdemeanor and bonded out within the hour. With a ton of witnesses and multiple videos, he would have very likely been acquitted.

Now he's spent the entire night in jail, spent a lot more on bail, been tased, and got his arse beat and to top it all off, he is 100% guilty of resisting arrest. The DA may drop the charge because of the beatdown, but the guy is guilty of that charge.

Acting like the adult even if the officer isn't is truly the ONLY winning choice in these situations.

Meh, I've done it twice before and wasn't arrested either time. I generally walk the straight and narrow nowadays though, so it's not much of a concern. Even so, I still avoid police as much as I can. Don't trust them.

Wrong the only reason the cop kept insisting that they come out was then he had the authority to arrest them for public intox, disorderly conduct or whatever else he could dream up. They did exactly the right thing by not leaving their home.

Is this standard for the TPD to send 8 cops to a noise complaint?
