We have a bunch of faux activists with faux causes.
So brave...

There are 5 posts on the board about it...
The minority players are boycotting athletic activities until Wolfe is fired.
No, that's not a sarcastic joking response. Although it seems made up as frick

Ironically, attitudes like this is why they are striking.

I don't think we can field a team of only white players. Season might be officially over.

Umm, that's the point dude.

And a society that affords minorities more advantages and privileges while crying they are mistreated makes me unable to give a single frick

We should pull every single one of their scholarships.
Pretty simple. You are here to play football. Don't want to play. Pay your own way or transfer.
Newsflash to every faux activists. There are injustices. There is racism. Nothing you do will EVER change that in any way. It is the way of the world. Unfortunate? Sure, but accept it.

That's what I tell my wife every time I beat the shite out of her. Just a tough life full of injustices hon. Sorry you picked the wrong guy. Just accept it.

Why?
Because "we" are throwing them a bone and they spit it back in your face?
Or maybe...
Because "they" must do as they are told?
This is a free country, if they feel truly threatened, and nothing is being done about it, then why shouldn't they be able to bring it to the forefront of discussion?
When you are marginalized, this is how you bring things to the forefront of discussion.

Why?
They are given a free education, free housing, free meals in order to compete in a sport. They were not offered those things to come to Missouri because of anything other than to play a sport.
They also thought that was a fair deal, and truthfully it's the opportunity of a lifetime, kids grow up wishing for just that.
As far as them being marginalized that's a joke, as a student athlete they are afforded things most college kids do not receive.
As far as a student having some negative words said to him allegedly by a select few, that's unfortunate, it sounds like in the instances when they were able they disciplined the kids who had done it.
The administration does not need to make a speech or say something due to the obvious wrong actions of a certain few minority. It's not realistic or plausible, furthermore everyone understands it's wrong without it being reiterated.
These athletes also have other avenues rather than walking out on their obligations, they have access to the AD, their coaches, and other people in the admin normal students would not. Discuss their gripes with them on that level rather than turning your back on the commitment you made.

Oh god. Miss me with the "you're a racist" bullshite please. My white guilt levels are not nearly high enough for it.
It is so incredibly tiring. Every time anyone doesn't join the latest bleading heart campaign it always comes back to this.
If they want to protest, fine. I personally think it's foolish to do so, but they are certainly free to do as they please.
And on the flip, if they want to be scholarship FOOTBALL players at Mizzou then you play FOOTBALL. If not, that's fine. No one is twisting your arm.

So it must be pretty damn bad for them to risk all of that.

I think you're missing the whole point.

There's more going on in COMO than just that, not that that alone isn't a problem when it's pervasive.

Don't disagree with the thought that they don't have to but why the angst if they did or were asked to? Is it really such a bad thing to speak out against the racist minority? And no, not everyone thinks it's wrong. That's part of the problem.

Yeah, that would affect change.
Look, I hate the fact that they are apparently letting their team mates down as much as anything else, but I suppose if they truly believe that they have been let down themselves and the issue is that important to that many of them, then so be it. There are bigger things in life than football.

A friend has texted me that the coaches are supporting the players. This has me beyond confused. It's not like they think Wolfe is really going to resign over this.

Young people love a cause. Be a part of something bigger than you. It's a rush.
I saw a tweet from a Black Student at Mizzou.
To the effect "It so great to be part of black Mizzou right now".
Hmmm, really? Just hours ago it was so bad that one student felt starving himself was a prudent response to the massive injustice he was facing.
