I don't completely understand how it works these days ... it used to be only a big deal to the basketball coaches who wanted the Nike shoes for their players.

As I understand it, the contract is in addition to what the school pays, but still part of the package. Sometimes, a substantial part of the package.

The endorser, the product supplier, agrees to pay said coach X number of dollars, and the school or program X number of dollars ... and these days it is all a package deal.

With that said it is no secret that Dawn Staley wants the deal done with Nike. She is the only woman in history, that I know of, who has a Nike shoe named after her like Jordan does.

Martin wants Nike too.

I'm pretty sure Tanner wants Nike too from what I am hearing.
