It's just a sad tale with no winners. Kid was a top recruit and immensely talented. Seemed to be a good teammate and was doing very well. Some thought he was the top WR recruit in the country that year and he definitely had NFL talent. This was his first game against UF he pulls of this catch showing the promise of his talent:
Season goes along great and he makes a couple key grabs including a big 3rd down catch against Bama. Then suddenly he just disappears and no one can find him. He shows up about a week later in Dallas and quits the team, never comes back to school. No warning, just gone. A&M tried to reach out to help him but he had no interest and there are strong rumors of mental health issues but the school can't confirm anything of course. In the coming weeks and through the offseason there were thoughts he might come back but he had just fallen off the deep end into the abyss.
Then 3 years later this story. A ruined life and a murder. At least he turned himself in before he killed others. Mental diseases are brutal.
