Since we all know you're lurking on the Gator board wondering what's going on over here, I thought the Gator fans would let y'all know what we think about this game.
Leonard Fournette is about to go up against the best defense he's going to see this year. We are going to slow him down and beat him up a little bit. He'll rush for 150 yards on 35 carries with 3 touchdowns. Florida's secondary is going to make Brandon Harris confused and make a few costly mistakes, and Will Grier is going to take a shite on the Tiger's eye at midfield after he throws for 250 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Gators are going to beat the Fighting Fournette's in Death Valley.
Gators- 38
Fournette's- 28
Suck this Gator dick, bitches

I don't think that Harris will have a problem. The UF defense and LSU defense are mirrors of each other. We both run a pro style offense that's based on running the ball. Now I do think that the secondary is the strength of the gator defense but we typically run 75-80% of the time. It should be a great game.

Not even close to mirrors.

Wrong again, Bob. I can tell you haven't watched a snap of Florida football. It's very rare for us to line up under center. It's much more of a spread hybrid that utilizes the tight ends.
Regarding the defense:
Scoring Defense:
LSU - 22.0 PPG
UF - 14.3 PPG
Which is crucial.
Sacks:
LSU - 12
UF - 21
Our secondary is not the feature of our defense, although it's a very, very close second.
This is the thing I hear almost every game now about how the other team's defense is legitimate, how it's a showstopper, how it's a body rocker -- but then come gameday it's not nearly what they thought it was because they've been feasting on cupcakes and not playing anyone of merit.
In the SEC you guys played:
Mississippi State: 1 - 2 SEC.
Auburn: 0 - 2 SEC.
South Carolina: 0 - 4 SEC.
Just to get those numbers to ya in the SEC that's 1 win to 8 losses.
VS.
Kentucky: 2 - 1
Missouri: 1 - 2.
Ole Miss: 2 - 1.
5 - 4.
Look, I heard this last week from Missouri -- number one defense in the SEC, finna eat, elite class defense, etc. etc. and what's hilarious is they too were just coming off of a win against a horrible South Carolina team.
Not saying LSU can't win, obviously, but my goodness those stats are going to take a drastic change now that you're finally playing a halfway decent team. Everybody you've played this year is a creampuff.

Mmmmm Winston you are over looking one thing...LSU has played cupcakes and they bend over easily. When you HAVE to throw....it will be different...UF will do their best to make LSU's offense a 3 & out personal ATM machine. When Harris HAS to throw for LSU to keep the ball...thats when we will see whats what. LF will get his...LSU will try a lot of draw plays to bust him loose on 2nd and even 3rd downs.
My concern is our offense and that they dont make mistakes that will fire up red stick. We can stop LSU & LF in the scheme of things....but we cant overcome a few turnovers. Grier has been very good at protecting the ball. I will make this promise: UF has no turnovers ...then we win going away. Its going to be tough getting rushing yds and that is key to winning. I dont want to see Grier throwing 45+ times cause it will mean we are behind on the scoreboard. We throw a lot of short passes and wear defenses down and will try throwing long just enough to keep secondary from helping on run support. Our goal is quick strike down the field and get up 2 scores and never let tigahs get comfortable.
If the game comes down to FGs...we arent so good with an injury several weeks ago to starting kicker...punting we are solid with Townsend. The home crowd is a big advantage if we make critical errors....gotta keep them quiet. Going up 2 scores would be just fine. Grier and his wrs and TEs can get down the field on you quick with 10-15 yd passes.
To sum it up...we need min of 150 yds rushing, 1 turnover or less....and a good ratio of third down conversions. TOP wont make or break either team at night. You might want to note that we have 11 DL we rotate often to keep fresh legs in there. There is no doubt in my mind that we will run blitz a lot and try to shoot through gaps to disrupt LF...but we need sure tackling and defense reacting and flying to the ball.
Cant wait.
