Great info here, but again, it's two games. Both of our 2nd half collapses are related IMO. Against ULL, we really tried to keep the deep ball going and we allowed them to get back in the game without using the clock. The USCe game was the exact opposite. We basically just took a knee and punted and ran the clock. It also didn't help Mikel Horton, who I think is a really good back, got injured. I see a lot of talk about bubble screens, but we really haven't run them as much as we've thrown it deep. We killed USC on quick slants. At this point in the season every team is still learning and finding an identity. I was really concerned about our defense coming into the USCe game without Hatcher and Flannigan. We made plays. That's encouraging. Hatcher is back and I'm almost certain that Flannigan won't play again. CWS will be crazy Saturday as there is a buzz around Lexington about football that we haven't seen in a long time. Kickoff can't get here soon enough.

ETA:UK fans know that a win Saturday almost assures a bowl game for the first time since 2010 with EKU, Charlotte and Vandy on the schedule.

Something I like to point out is that the best team doesnt always win the game...football is emotional...but usually that wears off after first half. I was surprised USC wasnt more amped for the game with you since the defeat last year and they were playing at home.

We are the better team talent wise matching roster for roster...but just look around and teams get beat on any given saturday. Stoops has done a good job at UK. I dont like watching games on TV...Im liable to throw things
