Week 1 & 2 Recap

SEMO W 34-3

@ Arkansas St W 27-20 My prediction last week: Mizzou 28-10

I said that this one might be tougher than expected but I didn't expect Mizzou to be down at the half. The O Line is still horrible but I thought Witter looked better. Hopefully he's injury isn't one that keeps him out long because we'll need him if Hans is gimpy for a while. Can we relax on, "Lock is the savior of Mizzou football" now? Mizzou escapes with a win in a tough road game. Hopefully this young team can grow from this experience otherwise it's going to be a long frustrating season. Kudos to the D for stepping it up in the 2nd half.

On to the future!!!!!!

Total opponent record after 2 weeks: 15-9

UConn (2-0) They struggled with Army, who lost to Fordham. I think (actually hope) they'll be easier than ASU. Hopefully this a game where we can work out some kinks before conference play. Mizzou 30 UConn 13

@Kentucky (2-0)
They looked impressive last night against a team with a good defense but a horrible offense. Sound familiar? Mizzou's road win streak ends in Lexington. UK 24 Mizzou 17

South Carolina (1-1) Like I said above, they almost mirror us. I think they have a few more issues at offense. I'll stick with my prediction from last week. It won't be pretty. Mizzou 17 USC 13

Florida (2-0) They got a good win in week 2 and have a hard nose coach that has them going in the right direction. They have three tough test before they come to CoMo in UK, Tenn. and Ole Miss. They may come in a little beat up. Mizzou in another ugly win 20-17

@ Georgia (2-0) (I'll just keep this here) They have Nick Chubb and our D isn't so great at stopping the run. UGA 28 Mizzou 13

@ Vanderbilt (0-2) They looked horrible against Western Kentucky and didn't look much better against UGA. Still it'll be closer than expected. Mizzou 27 Vandy 17

Mississippi St. (1-1) They fought hard in a close loss to LSU. This one will be tough. Can our D stop Dak? Yes, but not after all the chances our O will give him. MSU 27 Mizzou 20

BYU (2-0)**in KC** I'm back to being worried about this one. They looked good against Boise St. but how good is BSU? They are gonna bring it on Nov. 14. Hopefully our O can get it together by then but I'm skeptical until shown otherwise. BYU 24 Mizzou 20

Tennessee (1-1) They lost a close one to OU but still looked impressive against a top program. Their offense will be too much for us. UT 31 Mizzou 17

@ Arkansas (1-1) They lost to Toledo. Both teams could be fighting for a bowl game in this one. I think Mizzou goes out with a W. Mizzou 24 Arky 21

Closing Statements: After week 2 I'm content in knowing that this is rebuilding/learning season for a young Mizzou offense. The defense will keep games close but the offense will have to get it together in a hurry if we want to 3 peat. Tenn, UK, and the Gators are improved. But what do I know?

Final Record: 7-5 (4-4) 4th in the East

It's possible this team can improve, but just based on the level of play I've seen so far:

Wins: UConn, SC, Vandy, Arky (maybe)

Losses: UK, UF, UGA, MSU, BYU, UT

That makes the Arky game a must to become bowl eligible at 6-6 and 3-5 in conference.

This is exactly how I feel. I hope, HOPE, we get six wins with this shite-tastic offense.

Maybe we can squeeze out a win or two from our defense/special teams alone (ala Florida game 2014).

And my second loss-lock for this year (besides @ Georgia) is against The Fighting Polygmies of BYU.
