LSU hasn't won a major bowl game since 2007, and they've lost 4 in a row to Alabama. There isn't much to "brag" about from their perspective, so they cling to anything they can. Most fans pull for their guys in the league. LSU fans don't love their players and hope for their success more than fans of any other school, it just seems that way because they're very vocal about it, again because it's the only thing they can really point to and brag about right now. I welcome the onslaught of downvotes, but everyone reading this knows it to be true whether they're willing to admit it or not. If LSU were dominating college football, they'd stil support their former players, but you wouldn't see as much chest thumping over those guys success in the NFL. It's starting to become a tricky argument for them, because now Alabama has more superstars in the league than they do. They'll need to start winning some ball games against Bama or they won't have a talking point at all, and will just have to bend over and accept defeat Lacy, Jones, Hightower, Dareus, Mosley are bonafide NFL studs. LSU has Peterson, Williams, Whitworth, OBJ and a lot of role players.
