If you aren't a racists then you'll be one while you are there. It's segregated and you hang with your race, period. You only deal with other races (usually gang members) when buying or trading for contraband like drugs etc. I won't get into it too deep here but it sucks and does not rehabilitate you. It just hardens you and makes you an outcast when you get out. Too many drug addicts in the prison system where it is just as easy to get drugs as it is on the street.

I could tell you some racial stories about inmates and crooked arse guards too but I don't want to get banned.
