You posted 3 pics of Nick Marshall throwing. He has a different lace position in each pic. Not sure it matters, but found it kind of interesting as many QBs prefer the ball to be in same spot in their hand with laces consistent on every throw.

Obviously you don't know much about QB'ing outside of throwing in your back yard. On certain throws QB's are taught to grab the ball and throw as quick as possible. That's not just a Gus thing. That's pretty much every QB past Pop Warner football. Every QB in the NFL will make throws w/o the laces.

Edit to add this is primarily done to make quick throws out of the gun. Dropping back you usually have time to find the laces.

I remember this coming up last year. I'd never heard of it before. Marshall often threw without holding the laces.

Played QB in HS. Admittedly, that's not at Marshall's level, but I've thrown a ball in places other than my back yard.

No kidding? New information to the masses! Thanks!
Arm angle typically indicates whether or not a QB is in "catch & release" mode or not. Marshall's angle and stance in each of the three pics indicate he is in his drop (i.e. - NOT catch and release throws).

In Gun on deep routes you also have time to find laces.

My entire point was that Marshall isn't your typical QB in the way he holds (or doesn't hold) laces. By comparison, here's Jeremy Johnson:
Laces, laces, laces

Look up images of almost any QB throwing. Ball placement is consistent in the vast majority. Marshall is the exception.
