Three teams (Tennessee, Texas A&M, and LSU) make up 36 of those +46 point differential. Maybe ESPN just feels better about those teams than the coaches do.

Michigan State is a -10 difference from one poll to the next. Maybe ESPN lacks confidence in that one team, not the entire conference.

I think the point is you can see almost anything you want to see when looking at these things. SEC gets benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise (and by otherwise, we mean prove that last year was a new trend and not an anomaly).
