Winning in OT wasn't a given for either team.

Eh I'm pretty confident we would have won.

Either way IF auburn had won in an average overtime fashion do bama fans then still try to demean that season by calling it fluky?

Not that it matters because lets be honest either fanbase is going to find something with which to try to demean the other's accomplishments, I just wonder if that rally cry would be the same.

The other factor is that AU hasn't been able to show that level of performance consistently from season to season.

Guess it's a good thing we're not coming off a good season then. Seems like that's a mark in favor of hyping auburn this year.

Win double digit games back to back a few times and people will start giving more credit to the seasons like you had in 2013 instead of claiming that season is the outlier.

So we're getting hype, but you guys are complaining of hype and you're saying we need to get back to back 10 win seasons to justify the hype we're already getting. That doesn't make much sense.

woah. I'm not complaining about any hype. The OP was. It has no impact on my life beyond conversations with friends if you get tons of hype or no hype.

No. I'm not saying you need to do anything to justify the hype. My point on consecutive successful seasons is that people are less likely to discount your success as "fluke" or "rare" if you have it more consistently. My point is about what is or isn't proper respect for a successful season, not preseason hype.
